Walking Tour of Historic 4th Street
The street containing the best concentration of late 19th century commercial buildings in Sioux City will be the focus of a free walking tour presented by Sioux City Public Museum staff on Tuesday, August 14.
The 60-minute Historic 4th Street Walking Tour will begin at the park on the corner of 4th and Virginia Streets at 5:30 p.m. Haley Aguirre, Archival Records Clerk, will highlight the architecture of the area as well as the businesses that once occupied the structures. Many of the larger buildings in the district are notable for their distinctive Richardsonian Romanesque style, an architectural style popular in the late 1890s.
