2019 Kids to Park Day
The Sioux City Parks and Recreation Department invites parents to bring their kids to celebrate National Kids to Parks Day beginning at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Sertoma Park (small shelter), 4225 Lancelot Lane, for a fun afternoon of outdoor play and games.
Sioux City’s Kids to Parks Day event will include several outdoor activities for kids of all ages. Bring a Frisbee and play a round of Disc Golf at Sertoma Park or bring a bike and cruise around the 2-mile Sertoma Trail Loop. If it’s hot enough, the Cone Park Splash Pad will be on to provide some relief. Parents, make sure to hang out with your kids and enjoy the park and the planned activities.
Can’t make it to the Kids to Parks Day event at Sertoma Park? No worries! Kids and families are encouraged to explore any one of our 40 designated city parks. Take a walk or bike ride on a recreation trail, conduct a nature scavenger hunt with a group of friends, or have a family picnic. Every day kids and adults can create fun and memorable moments at playgrounds and open park spaces. The best thing - there is no charge for playing in a park; and, it’s something everyone can do. So, turn off the T.V. or tablet, put down the cell phone, and get outside and have some fun!
The event is subject to cancellation due to the weather. Please check our Facebook page for updates.
