The Civil Service Commission administers the provisions of Chapter 400 of the Code of Iowa; prepares and administers examinations for all Civil Service positions and determines seniority for Civil Service employees; serves as the appeal board for employees who receive discipline resulting in loss of pay or termination; and serves as an oral examination board.
