The Environmental Advisory Board makes recommendations on a plan to enable Sioux City to meet State mandated reductions in solid waste; makes recommendations on an integrated solid waste management plan; makes recommendations on rates for environmental projects as requested by the Council or City Manager; recommends programs for educating the community on environmental education issues; makes recommendations on environmental planning issues; and makes recommendations regarding the development of the storm water pollution prevention program as it applies to the citizen involvement and community education programs.

Five members must be residents of Sioux City, the remaining four members can be:

  • Residents of Sioux City
  • Owners of property within Sioux City
  • Owners of a business within Sioux City
