The Mayor’s Youth Commission is responsible for dealing with issues related to youth in the community; sponsoring events for youth in a noncompetitive environment; and making recommendations to the Council concerning improvements in the community that would appeal to young people.

| Membership: |
Members shall be enrolled in a public or parochial high school or reside in Sioux City but attend a school outside of Sioux City; members can be home schooled and at least a ninth grader and not yet an eleventh grader. Applications to become a member of the Sioux City Mayor’s Youth Commission are available at City Hall and in high school offices. 9th and 10th graders who live in Sioux City or attend a Sioux City School are eligible to apply. The deadline for submitting an application is October 31st.
