The Transit System Advisory Board makes recommendations to the City Council on the operation of the Sioux City Transit System including, but not limited to the following areas: rules and regulations for the control, operation, supervision and maintenance of the system; the purchase, lease, sale, or exchange of any property for the benefit and efficient operation of the system and the terms and conditions of the transaction; the necessary personnel to operate the system and their compensation; the rates and fares for the transportation of passengers and incidental services; advertising on buses and other facilities; the advisability of applying for grants or subsidies from any other unit of government; the procurement of insurance as is felt necessary for the protection of the system; advertisement of services offered by the Sioux City Transit System; and the advisability of accepting or rejecting gifts of property or money to the Transit System. | Membership Requirements: | Four members must be resident electors of Sioux City. One member may be a resident elector of either Sioux City, Sergeant Bluff, North Sioux City, South Dakota, or South Sioux City, Nebraska. |
