The Yamanashi (pronounced ya-ma-NAH-she) City Sister City Committee works toward the enhancement of quality of life in Sioux City and Yamanashi City; promotes city exchanges in a variety of areas, such as culture, education, arts, and economy; and cultivates a relationship based on mutual trust and respect with Yamanashi City, Japan.

Membership Requirements: Members of this committee shall broadly be a representative of the community-at-large and a member who, by virtue of their background, education and experience, have demonstrated their ability to accept responsibility, to use prudent judgement and have shown a sincere interest in the Japanese culture.
