On January 28, 2026 the Boys & Girls Home and Family Services will be submitting a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Brownfields Cleanup Grant application for the former St. Joseph Hospital building located at 2101 Court Street in Woodbury County, Sioux City, IA. The public meeting for this grant application will take place at the Boys & Girls Home in the lobby of the main floor, 2101 Court Street, Sioux City, Iowa 51104 on January 23, 2026 at 12:00 PM. The City will have a copy of the application, as well as an Analysis of Brownfields Cleanup Alternatives, available for public review and comment. Comments regarding the application can be submitted to the Boys & Girls Home at 2101 Court Street, Sioux City, Iowa 51104 by January 26, 2026.

El 28 de enero de 2026, el Hogar de Niños y Niñas y Servicios Familiares (Boys and Girls Home and Family Services) presentará una solicitud de subvención a la Agencia de Protección Ambiental de los Estados Unidos para la limpieza de terrenos contaminados del antiguo Hospital St. Joseph, ubicado en 2101 Court Street, condado de Woodbury, Sioux City, Iowa. The City of Sioux City received $300,000 in U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Brownfields funding to complete several Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments.  All work related to this funding is complete and the final report can be found by clicking HERE.  In addition, completed assessments and quarterly reports are available for viewing below.
