RENTAL PROPERTY OWNERS NEEDED

Do you have vacancies in your rental properties that you are trying to fill? If so, the City of Sioux City, Housing Authority (SCHA) administers a rental assistance program for Sioux City, Iowa and is looking for property owners to participate in the program. The program is funded and regulated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

The program provides rental assistance for participants to rent from a private landlord. A participant will pay approximately 30% of their monthly adjusted income for rent. The SCHA pays the remaining portion of the SCHA approved contract rent directly to the landlord.

Currently the SCHA has numerous approved applicants that are searching for available affordable units.

“So, what’s in it for me?” you ask.

As a landlord, you get the rental subsidy directly from the SCHA each month, regardless of changes in family income.

Free advertising - Request to have your contact information added to our listing of landlords currently participating in the HCV Program. This list is given to current and future participants, looking for available units.

You control who you rent your units to by screening applicants in the same way that you screen all your applicants.

You may request annual reasonable rent increases with proper written notice.

The SCHA inspects your rental unit for free at least once biennially to ensure compliance with Housing Quality Standards prescribed by HUD.
