The Citizen's Convenience Center (CCC) is located at the City's former solid waste landfill. The CCC accepts most items that are either not accepted curbside or too large for disposal in your residential garbage container.  Please note that high density residential or apartment units of four (4) or more may take recycling material to the CCC at no cost.

This service is meant for Residential customers and is not meant for businesses and non-profit organizations. Commercial contractor waste can be disposed of at the Jackson, NE landfill location.

All loads that arrive at the CCC should be secured and/or covered.

Uncovered or unsecured loads are subject to a $15 surcharge as outlined in Municipal Code Chapter 5.20.130.

A Hi-Viz vest or bright visible clothing is now required to be worn while conducting business outside of your vehicle. There is a fee if you need a vest provided by the CCC.

Monday - Friday: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm - Must be onsite and
unloaded by 4:55pm.

Weekends:

Saturday: 9:00 am - 2:00 pm - Must be onsite and
unloaded by 1:55pm. 
Sunday: CLOSED

Holidays:

The CCC will be closed if holiday falls on a Monday - Saturday.  Please call ahead to verify if questions.

Accepted at the Citizen's Convenience Center

• Leaves & grass clippings - free drop-off for residents. Trailers must be tarped. If bagged, please use paper bags, no plastic. There is a charge on disposal for businesses.
• Tree limbs/brush - $28.00 for a truck load (flat rate), $64 per ton

• Christmas trees may be placed curbside and will be collected during the first two weeks of January on your regular collection day. Please have trees free of ornaments, tinsel, lights, tags and tree stands.  Tree branches not larger than two (2) inches in diameter and no longer than four (4) feet in length may be loosely placed in customer garbage containers or bundled with pre-paid stickers for pick-up on their regular garbage day.  PLEASE DO NOT BAG THE TREES.  Pickup for 2025 is January 2nd - January 17th.  During the month of January, trees may be disposed of at the CCC located at 5800 28th Street free of charge.

• Tires - no rim-$10, rim on-$16.50 (Maximum of four tires) If over four tires call (712) 255-8345 and ask for Jackson Landfill Information and hours for disposal.  Commercial/Construction vehicle tires are an additional fee.

• Bulky items - furniture, lawn furniture, mattresses; $64/ton ($28.00 minimum flat rate)

• Construction Debris (Residential) - carpet, lumber, insulation, shingles, tile, cabinetry, etc.; $64/ton ($28.00 minimum flat rate). Construction debris is not accepted from Contractors performing for-hire work.  Contact Jackson Landfill for this service.

• Cardboard - Cardboard recycling is free.

• Plastic - Plastic recycling is free.

• Electronics (TVs, stereos, computer monitors/towers, laptops, tablets, etc.)  - Fees may vary, call
  (712) 255-8345;  TV over 31" = $50.00; 22" - 30" = $22.00; under 21" = $12.50

• Metal - scrap metal, bicycles, lawn mowers, etc.; fee varies.

• Appliances - refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, microwaves, stoves, washer/dryers; $12.50

• Office Appliances - full size copier = $52; Large printer = $27.75; CRT monitors = $12.50; Computer towers and small printers = $7.00

• Glass Drop Off- all separated food and beverage glass with labels accepted. No mirrors, light bulbs or TVs!

• Contact the CCC for a complete list of accepted items and fees.

• NOTICE:  Some Dump trailers may be directed to the LP Gill Landfill west of Jackson, Nebraska due to size, material type, or operational function to prevent damages.  This will be at the discretion of the CCC staff.  A Hi-Viz vest or bright visible clothing is now required to be worn while conducting business outside of your vehicle.  There is a fee if you need a vest provided by the CCC.
