The City of Sioux City Environmental Advisory Board is a nine-member board whose mission is to promote environmentally sound practices, plan for the preservation of our community’s natural resources for future generations, and educate community members on environmental topics, including solid waste reduction, recycling, stormwater pollution, and other pertinent environmental issues such as ecosystem awareness, energy efficiency, and systems-based approaches to sustainability.

If you would like to apply to be part of the Environmental Advisory Board, please complete the online application form.
Meetings are open to the public.
The board meets on the second Thursday of every month. Upcoming meeting agendas can be found on the City's home page under Government-> Boards and Commissions section.
Events that the EAB are involved with include the Garden Show, the Multicultural Fair, Pride Festival, the Farmer's Market, the Re-Event Electronics Recycle Event and assorted litter pick-up events.

UPCOMING AREA EVENTS
2026 Litter Dash is Friday, April 17, 2026 at Cone Park. Pick up supplies at Noon, litter collection is 1-4pm. Signup will take place in March 2026.
RE-Event Electronics Recycling Event - Saturday, April 25, 2026, 9am - Noon at the CCC located at 5800 28th Street.
