Acceptable Containers

Each Sioux City resident is required to have (1) solid waste tote that is provided by Gill Hauling.

Additional solid waste totes may be rented from Gill Hauling by contacting 712-279-0151 for an additional charge.  Recycling totes are free of charge and each household may have up to six (6) recycling totes onsite. 

Residents may also use approved personal containers which may be no larger than 35 gallons in size but will need to have a pre-purchased, one-time use solid waste sticker attached to the container each time it is used.

All garbage and/or yard waste should be bagged and placed in a container, or it may not be picked up by Gill Hauling. Recycled material should not be bagged or bagged in a paper, recyclable bag and placed in a recycle container (clean, recyclable materials only).

Furniture, electronics, and other bulky items may be taken to the Citizen's Convenience Center located at 5800 28th Street, or you may arrange for a third party to remove the debris for you. Scattered Garbage

The City of Sioux City is not responsible for scattered materials. Scattered materials include garbage, yard waste and recycling. If animals are a problem in your neighborhood, please contact Animal Control at 712-279-6170. If illegal dumping or scavengers are a problem in your neighborhood, please contact the Police Department at 712-279-6357.
