RESIDENTIAL GARBAGE & RECYCLING COLLECTION CHANGES TO AFFECT SOME RESIDENTS BEGINNING FEBRUARY 3, 2020

The City of Sioux City’s garbage and recycling collection service provider, Gill Hauling, will alter pick-up days for some Sioux City residential customers beginning Monday, February 3, 2020.  The change will affect certain residential customers who currently receive garbage and recycling pick up on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday, with collection taking place one day sooner.  Direct all questions regarding the collection schedule to Gill Hauling by calling 712-279-0151. Any residents who experience a missed collection during this transition should contact Gill Hauling and they will return to collect it within 24 hours.

environmental-services-10HOLIDAY COLLECTION: Gill Hauling observes the following holidays - New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day & Christmas Day. When these holidays fall on a weekday garbage service will be delayed one day for the remainder of the week.

Regular Collection: Monday through Friday beginning at 4:00 a.m. Garbage, yard waste, and recyclables must be placed within 4 feet of the curb and set out no more than 24 hours prior to collection, and all containers must be removed from the curb no later than 24 hours after collection. Remember that all garbage must be placed in an approved solid waste container.

Recycling/Disposal of Unique Items: There are several options for disposing of items not accepted in your residential curbside containers. Check out:  What do I do with...?  under Garbage & Recycling Collection. If you don't see it on the list, call (712) 279-6222.

Citizen's Convenience Center (CCC)/Household Hazardous Materials (HHM) Center: The CCC consists of a transfer station where citizens can bring bulky items, appliances, and electronics for disposal. There is also a Household Hazardous Materials drop off center. More information about these services can be found under the Household Hazardous Waste tab at left.
