Pension
Iowa Public Employees Retirement System (IPERS) & Municipal Fire and Police Retirement System of Iowa (MFPRSI).
Non-public safety employees are participants of the Iowa Public Employees Retirement System (IPERS) and public safety employees (Police & Fire) are participants in the Municipal Fire and Police Retirement System of Iowa (MFPRSI).
As you near retirement, please be sure to reach out to your respective pension plan provider to ensure you have all the necessary paperwork in place. Members of MFPRSI have the option to have their healthcare premiums paid directly from their pension.
For employees covered under IPERS, as you get closer to retirement, please visit the "Nearing Retirement" page on the IPERS site to move along in your planning.
For our Public Safety personnel covered under MFPRSI, please visit the MFRPSI site to learn more.
