Plenty of Outdoor Fun
The residents of Sioux City are all too familiar with the cold winters and hot summers that come each year. Luckily, there are plenty of outdoor activities to match each season. In the warm months of the year, pools, splash pads, and biking and walking trails will occupy your time. In 2024, we also opened our newest addition - our Mountain Bike Park! During the colder months, you will find yourself at Cone Park sledding or ice skating at the IBP Ice Center. We have miles and miles of trails, and group activities planned throughout the year. Sports, Concerts, and More!
The people of Sioux City have plenty of opportunities for entertainment. There are a variety of amateur and professional sports in the area including ice hockey, baseball, and both indoor and outdoor football teams as well as two NAIA colleges, Morningside University and Briar Cliff University. In addition to sports, there are always a number of concerts in Sioux City. In recent years, Sioux City has seen names such as Kesha, Toby Keith, Kiss, Foreigner, Boston and Shinedown often held at the Hard Rock Casino, the Tyson Events Center, or the Orpheum Theater. Other Employers in the Area
Home to a number of company headquarters as well as a Fortune 500 company, the Siouxland area is full of job opportunities. Some of the largest employers in the area include Wilson Trailer, Sabre Industries, CF Industries Nitrogen, LLC, Wells Enterprises, and Seaboard Triumph Foods along with the City's hospitals, MercyOne and UnityPoint Health.
