Expectations

• Commit to monitoring the park 1-2 hours per week.

• Facilitate a fun and enjoyable environment for park users and their pets.

• Be visible.

• Be an active ambassador.

• Educate, inform, and call authorities if needed.

• Be an advocate for the Parks & Recreation Department.

Ambassador’s Role

• Wear your ambassador’s shirt while at the dog park.

• Welcome and greet users of the dog park.

• Monitor park users and diplomatically inform them if rules have been violated. Rules are posted at the entrance of the park.

• All dogs that live within City limits should be registered with the City of Sioux City and display city issued tag.

• Hand out brochures about registering your dog with the City of Sioux City.

• Encourage users to practice responsible dog ownership principles.

• If conflicts arise, contact the Sioux City Police dispatch center at 712-279-6960.

• If bitten, provide information to the Sioux City Animal Control at 712-279-6170.
