Hydrant Meter Rental - Contact Customer Service
Hydrant meters are available for rent by contractors or citizens to allow them to connect to a City of Sioux City hydrant for water. You must first contact the Customer Service Office at 279-6132 and complete a Hydrant Meter Rental Contract. The Hydrant Meter will be picked up from and dropped off at the Underground Utilities Field Office at 1600 Steuben St. When picking up/returning the meter, please call 898-4518 and make arrangements with the Meter Shop personnel.
Permits/Taps/Inspections
The Underground Utilities Field Office provides the permits for any work done outside a building to the water, sanitary sewer, or storm sewers that service a property. We also provide the equipment and appropriate staffing for any water tap made to a public or private water main. Staff from this office provides the inspection for all aforementioned work.
