How Can I Get Involved?

There are several ways you can volunteer your time or resources in Sioux City. Explore the needs below or visit iamsiouxland.org to learn about the many organizations throughout the community who are looking for volunteers. 

Adopt A Street - Beautify our community! Call 712-279-6396 and city staff will work with you to identify an area that needs litter pickup each spring and fall. 

Blue Zones - Call 279-6119 ext. 2825 or 712-577-4157 to learn about opportunities available. 

Boards & Commissions - Serve on one of the City's 18 boards and commissions.

Fire Academy - Experience what it's like to be a Sioux City Fire Rescue firefighter. 

Police Citizen's Academy - Become a Volunteer in Policing or experience what it's like to be a Sioux City police officer by taking part in the Citizens' Police Academy. 

Talk with the Mayor and Council - Participate in the quarterly Coffee with Council events or citizen concern portion of the weekly City Council meetings. 

Parks & Recreation - Help keep our parks clean and beautiful, keep time at track meets and more! 

Public Meetings & More - Attend a public open house or information meeting. 

Environmental Services - Volunteer to clean up the city during the organized Litter Dash Event. Call 712-279-6222 for more information.
