|Pet License Information|
License your pet, it's the law.
All pet licenses are valid for one (1) year and expire on December 31st of the license year. Effective with the sale of the 2015 pet licenses is a price increase of $1 per license. The cost of a 2015 tag is now $11 for neutered pets or $31 for intact pets. Pets must have a current rabies vaccination before a license can be issued.
A penalty of an additional $2 per license applies to the original charge when the license is obtained after March 1st; an additional $4 is added after April 1st; and an additional $6 is added if the license is obtained after May 1st.
These penalties do not apply to pet tag renewals for pit bulls. If you are the owner of a pit bull you must renew your pet license BEFORE March 1st or the license will be deemed non-continuous and the pit bull will no longer be exempt from the City-wide ban. You will not be allowed to license your pit bull in Sioux City if you do not renew BEFORE March 1st.
The 2015 Pet License Renewal Notices were mailed to pet owners the first week in December; pet owners may apply for their 2015 Pet Licenses now at the Customer Service Center in City Hall, 405 6th Street; Sioux City Animal Adoption and Rescue, 2400 Hawkeye Drive; or participating veterinarians.
