Hamilton Blvd. Construction Detour Options
The Public Works Department will be presenting detour options for the Hamilton Blvd construction (8th – 15th St.) at the City Council's Study Session on Monday, February 13th at 3:30 p.m. The Hamilton Blvd construction work between 8th and 15th Street will begin in early spring. This last stage of the Wesley Parkway project is necessary to complete the Wesley Parkway/Hamilton Blvd. intersection modifications, as well as, replace aging infrastructure along Hamilton Blvd. The Hamilton Blvd. construction work will extend from 8th to 15th Street (2 blocks) and includes full reconstruction of the pavement and underground utilities. This presentation to the City Council will address the staging and detour plan options. The two options include the following:
Option 1 - Complete Closure of Hamilton Blvd from 8th to 15th Street with traffic detoured along Geneva Street. This closure will allow a 3 ½ month closure with a July 15th completion date.
Option 2 - Staged construction along Hamilton Blvd allowing two-lanes to be opened on Hamilton Blvd during construction. This phasing plan will allow for a five (5) month closure with a September 1st completion date.
