Downtown Asphalt Resurfacing Project Start-up
6th Street, Nebraska Street, & Pierce Street
The City of Sioux City Engineering Division announces the start of the Downtown Asphalt Resurfacing Project on July 16, 2013. This project includes milling and asphalt overlay, inlet top and sidewalk ramp reconstruction along Pierce Street (6th Street to 11th Street), Nebraska Street (Gordon Drive to B.N.S.F. Railroad and 5th Street to 10th Street), and 6th Street (Jennings Street to Iowa Street).
The project will be completed in three phases starting on 6th Street first, then working on Nebraska Street next & Pierce Street last with a completion date of October 1, 2013. Various lane closures will occur during the resurfacing process; however, one lane of traffic will remain open during the course of the project.
Motorists are advised to reduce speed, drive cautiously & obey all traffic control signs & barricades with regard to the project closures
