Leisure Grant Applications Due
The Sioux City Parks and Recreation Board is accepting applications for Leisure Grants. Applications are due October 2, 2013. The board awards grants totaling $20,000 annually. The funding is designed to partner with other service clubs, associations or individuals in the development of capital improvement projects that benefit the citizens of Sioux City. There is $10,000 available for this round of grants.
Previous projects which have received funding include: Bacon Creek Dog Park, in partnership with Siouxland Off Leash Association (SOLA), Smith Villa Park improvements that include new playground equipment, a shelter and basketball goal in partnership with the Neighborhood Network and MRHD, new toddler play equipment at Dale Street Park in partnership with Jones Street Urban Renewal Project and Neighborhood Association, and ongoing improvements to Sertoma Park in partnership with the Sertoma Club.
